16 Home Maintenance Tips for Spring

Today is the first week of Spring 2022, and boy has this been a wild year so far...and we don’t mean just the weather! This time of year, there are many things homeowners should consider doing:

Clean Up! Winter debris, old leaves, fallen branches, etc. Its time to haul out that vacuum, broom, etc and tidy up the place. Wash windows.
Check your roof. Winter winds may have caused damage that requires your attention.
Clean out gutters: they probably collected all sorts of debris over Winter.
Clean and/or replace AC filters.
Deep clean your dryer vent and other appliances.
Check your washing machine hose: Maybe install a leak detector?
Clean and repair screens... the bugs are coming! Invisible screens are fab!
Pressure wash decks, fences, etc. and check for damage.
Fix cracks in sidewalks and driveways before rains cause more decay.
Paint! Some surfaces may be overdue for some painting.
Replace smoke detector batteries if they are not hard wired.
Sharpen blades for garden equipment and kitchen knives.
Check caulking around doors and windows to conserve energy.
Trim bushes and trees.
Clean thoroughly around any mechanical equipment.
Drain your water heater to clear out sediment.
